Minh Tam Orphanage
Minh Tam Orphanage is home to 40 children, ranging from just three weeks old to 30 years old, including a special needs individual who has been lovingly cared for since infancy. Their mission goes beyond providing shelter; it’s about fostering opportunity. Minh Tam prioritizes education, encouraging children to pursue university or vocational training to build fulfilling lives.
Next door, a kindergarten nurtures younger children, laying the foundation for their educational journey. With the savings from their solar system, Minh Tam can provide more school uniforms, enabling even more children to attend school, and support older students in achieving higher education.
Every ray of sunlight here fuels not just lights, but dreams for generations to come.

Tam Pham’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and an unwavering dedication to helping others. After escaping Vietnam in 1981 with her young children, Tam rebuilt her life from the ground up in Whyalla, South Australia. Despite the challenges of starting over in a new country, she dedicated her energy to supporting her local community and maintaining deep ties to her homeland. Her efforts to assist families in need and provide resources for rebuilding lives left an indelible mark on those around her.
Even as Tam faced her own challenges, including the devastating strokes in 2021 that left her permanently disabled, her legacy of giving continued to inspire. Today, every solar system installed by Little Sunshine Pledge carries a plaque with a symbol of Tam, ensuring her spirit of kindness and hope is felt in communities far and wide.
Tam’s life and generosity serve as a reminder of how one person’s unwavering compassion can ripple across generations, lighting the way for brighter futures and stronger communities.
