At Little Sunshine Pledge, we provide solar energy systems to underprivileged communities, creating lasting impact by empowering facilities like orphanages to provide education, food, and opportunities for children. Unlike traditional donations, our model amplifies the benefits over time, with each solar installation continuing to provide energy, education, and a brighter future for generations to come.
We work closely with local communities to identify facilities that would benefit most from solar energy. Our focus is on orphanages, schools, and community centers in regions where access to energy is limited, ensuring that the impact reaches those who need it the most.
Once a community is selected, we equip facilities with solar panels and related infrastructure. This process not only provides a reliable energy source but also makes these communities self-sufficient, allowing them to thrive being powered by sustainable and renewable energy free of charge.
As children grow, they become the next generation of leaders, educators, and caregivers, passing on the benefits they received. Our approach creates a ripple effect, as empowered individuals contribute back to their communities, extending the positive impact far beyond the initial donation.
With solar power, these communities don’t just provide power—they provide possibilities. Communities can cook meals, accommodate more children, and buy uniforms and supplies, giving kids the education and opportunities they deserve. The solar energy opens doors to opportunities that transform lives, empowering individuals to build a better future.
Our Story
Meet Tam Pham, the inspiration behind the Little Sunshine Pledge
In 1981, Tam fled Vietnam with her young boys, seeking safety and a fresh start.
Arriving in Whyalla, South Australia, they faced the daunting challenge of rebuilding their lives from nothing.
Tam had to learn a new language, adapt to a new culture, single-handedly raise her family and create a future with unwavering determination.
Tam’s kindness shone as she started a kindergarten and extended her support to families in need, always putting others first.
Tam’s generosity touched everyone around her, offering support locally and reaching those in Vietnam as they rebuilt their lives after the war.
In 2021, Tam’s life took an unexpected and devastating turn when she suffered a stroke. Though she began to show signs of recovery, a second, more severe stroke struck just months later, leaving her permanently disabled.
Her youngest son, Peter, refused to let Tam’s legacy fade. Inspired by her lifetime of generosity and the countless lives she touched, he set out to channel her spirit of goodwill into a global mission.
This vision became the foundation of Little Sunshine Pledge. To honor Tam’s enduring impact, each plaque carries a symbol of her—a reminder that her light continues to shine.
